The IC697MDL340 is compatible with an array of load devices, including solenoids, motor starters, and indicators. 

The rating of 2 amps per point relates to the long term capacity of each point. 

Due to heat dissipation within the module, the max current capacity for each group of outputs is limited to 4 amps. 

Each output on the module is capable of transiently conducting a surge current greater than its long-term current rating. 

The rate at which such surges can be repeated depends on the current rating of the device and the duty cycle (percent of time the device is ON). 

In certain operating conditions, the module can be programmer-configured. 

Output points can be programmed to maintain existing output state or turn OFF by default.
